Discovery of COVID-19-Related Virus Raises Concerns of Spillover in Thai Cave
Bangkok: A new potentially deadly bat virus with human spillover potential has been discovered in Thailand by EcoHealth Alliance, a controversial research group linked to Wuhan experiments.
Dr. Peter Daszak reported the finding of a virus, closely related to COVID-19, in a Thai cave where farmers use bat feces for fertilization. The virus, yet to be named, has “almost” the same infection potential as COVID-19.
The discovery raises concerns amid a global surge in COVID-19 cases, attributed to the highly transmissible JN.1 variant, though current vaccines are effective against it, according to the CDC.
